Socialism actually wants nothing but a middle class to function. Elites can't really form in a real socialistic society because the means of production are owned by the people at large.

This is something I'll honestly never understand. There's a huge population of people who see what's wrong and we basically all agree on what the problem is, and then you vote for the party that actively and openly says those things are good and they want to keep them. Like, go to Mitch McConnel's state and they say that access to healthcare is an absolute necessity and corporations need to be brought under control.... and that's why they're voting for Mitch again, the guy who explicitly wants those problems to not be fixed.
