Far right parties will more likely increase tensions without really fixing the problems, so they can get reelected... It's like a cancer. And I will pass on the incompetents populists able ruin entire countries or to destroy democracies.
Yet the real solution will come from moderated right or even centrists who will propose new laws, even constitutional changes, in order to... Follow what voters are asking while neutralizing their far right opponents.
Far right is miserable but it has to stay on the spotlights. Imho is the real threat is when these fuckers are trying to appear as a "respectable" / mainstream party ...
Anything to the right from the left is Far Right.
Europe needs to face and deal with the consequences of their actions over the past decades (and even centuries).
Pillaging Maghreb during World War 1 to make Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians fight a war in the European theater they had no part of left a lot of confused Arabs who were left traumatized by the colonial overlords.
At the same one has to remember the political double-dealing (starting with eg Lawrence of Arabia to rallied Arabs against the Ottomans and then doublecrossing them with Sykes-Picot/ Balfour Declaration). The movie was great, the reality was not.
Then, a few decades later the pillaging continued again both during World War 2 and after World War 2 when special programs to import millions of laborers from Turkey and Maghreb were implemented.
All this not only left a generation of embittered, desperate and disenfranchised families that had nowhere to turn to, but also gave fertile ground to the rise of religious extremism which was again, used by unscrupulous manipulators like eg Netanyahu who propped up HAMAS to fight a more secular PLO.
Yet people never learned from their mistakes and when the last bastion that prevented the unchecked flood of escaped slaves and refugees fell - people now have to fight the very same problems Lybia faced - but this time at home in Italy and France.
Perhaps outsourcing the brutality and oppression of the refugees for decades to eg Lybia was not such a bad idea after all?
