The governing Conservative Party has long promised to reduce arrivals. It said Brexit would help. But the numbers in 2022 were the highest ever.

False; it is exactly related to your post here:

Thursday, November 23, a printer in Valence refused to print a leaflet deemed "hateful" concerning the death of young Thomas, killed in Crépol. The company, victim of bad buzz, suffered a veritable storm of insults and threats on social networks.
As you can see the far right CANCER is always here to catch up.

Uk net migration was so high because of non EU migration. Hong Kong, Ukraine, India, Nigeria mostly.

"The rise in overall net migration was driven by an increase in non-EU citizens coming to the UK. Non-EU net migration gradually increased during the 2010s, reaching 184,000 in 2019. It fell briefly in 2020 due to the pandemic but has since risen sharply to 662,000 in 2022. "

The Conservative government has failed in many ways. Brexit, so far has failed economically.

The illegal migrants coming across the channel in boats can't really be stopped by the British government.
They would need the French government to breakup the gangs and refugee camps. And properly police the Northern regions to prevent this.

They will never do that as I'm sure you understand.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe:
https://www.euronews.com/2023/12/03/deadly-bomb-attack-on-catholic-mass-in-the-philippines-kills-four-and-injures-dozens

Quote
A forceful explosion, suspected to result from a bomb, tore through a morning Catholic Mass held in a university gymnasium, killing at least four people and injuring more than 50 others. The incident took place on Sunday in a predominantly Muslim city in the southern Philippines

Quote
The recent blast in Marawi, the capital of Lanao del Sur province, followed military operations against local pro-Islamic State groups. Armed Forces Chief Romeo Brawner suggested the possibility of the morning's events being a retaliatory attack, considering the recent military operations against extremist groups. The Maute group, linked to the Islamic State, had previously seized Marawi in 2017 with the aim of establishing it as a Southeast Asian "wilayat" for the Islamic State, resulting in a five-month battle that claimed over a thousand lives.

The religion of peace being fiery but mostly peaceful yet again.

If Western decision makers had listened to those "far right sac of shit parties", there wouldn't be a need to fix anything to begin with.

Far right parties will more likely increase tensions without really fixing the problems, so they can get reelected... It's like a cancer. And I will pass on the incompetents populists able ruin entire countries or to destroy democracies.

Yet the real solution will come from moderated right or even centrists who will propose new laws, even constitutional changes, in order to... Follow what voters are asking while neutralizing their far right opponents.
Far right is miserable but it has to stay on the spotlights. Imho is the real threat is when these fuckers are trying to appear as a "respectable" / mainstream party ...

Anything to the right from the left is Far Right.

Europe needs to face and deal with the consequences of their actions over the past decades (and even centuries).

Pillaging Maghreb during World War 1 to make Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians fight a war in the European theater they had no part of left a lot of confused Arabs who were left traumatized by the colonial overlords.

At the same one has to remember the political double-dealing (starting with eg Lawrence of Arabia to rallied Arabs against the Ottomans and then doublecrossing them with Sykes-Picot/ Balfour Declaration). The movie was great, the reality was not.

Then, a few decades later the pillaging continued again both during World War 2 and after World War 2 when special programs to import millions of laborers from Turkey and Maghreb were implemented.

All this not only left a generation of embittered, desperate and disenfranchised families that had nowhere to turn to, but also gave fertile ground to the rise of religious extremism which was again, used by unscrupulous manipulators like eg Netanyahu who propped up HAMAS to fight a more secular PLO.

Yet people never learned from their mistakes and when the last bastion that prevented the unchecked flood of escaped slaves and refugees fell - people now have to fight the very same problems Lybia faced - but this time at home in Italy and France.

Perhaps outsourcing the brutality and oppression of the refugees for decades to eg Lybia was not such a bad idea after all?
