Can we at least agree that companies should not make partisan rules for their employees which explicitly give preferential treatment to one political party over the other - even if doing so would be legal?

It really depends on the party tbh. For instance, I think it would be extremely ethical to pay libertarians less than socialists.

Up until Trump got elected I'd agree, but at this point it would be irresponsible to treat Trump as anything but dangerous.

Meh. I, personally, do not believe in the idea that "the good guys" can beat a dangerous politician or movement by adopting their dirty, evil tactics.

Thx for the vid btw, I'll watch it tomorrow. Too drunk right now after my hometown team won the Champions League tonight! :santa:

It's not really a dirty evil tactic to call things by their nature. Trump has been moving in a disturbingly fascist direction ever since before his inauguration. I know we're pretty far from real fascism, but I'd prefer to point it out and make sure everybody knows it's dangerous to allow steps in that direction because it's the kind of thing that can snowball.

Trump lacks institutional support, the Democrats have it in spades. Trump can't get Fox News to give him the coverage he wants, whereas the rest of the media world actively hates him. Trump suggests election delays and Republicans laugh at him, Democrats discuss the need for private companies to do their part by curbing "fake news".

The Democratic party is in a much better position to pull something like this off. It's a paranoia on par with the red scare.

The Democratic party is certainly in a better position, but they're not trying to actually do it.

That's the difference.

A president who is playing with fascism is dangerous even if he isn't currently in a position to pull it off.

Yes. That would be the sane, stable, rational, take on Goodyear's current policy shift.

I especially like how Goodyear toys with fascist HR policy, yet somehow, that too is Trump's fault.

Trump is incompetent so he's not really the danger in a vacuum. The issue is his cult like appeal. His supporters worship him and will destabilize the nation. Republicans, will tacitly support this because Trump's supporters put them in power. They are incapable of saying "no."

The only real solution is to outvote them and make them a permanent minority.

I like how conservatives understand that fascism is the marriage of corporate and state power as stated by Mussolini, but with zero self-awareness.
