It definitely cuts both ways. Culture definitely does breed reality, just like reality definitely breeds culture. Which is part of the reason why blacks cant seem to make progress at more than a snail's pace, even when discrimination against them is reduced substantially (e.g. compared to their situation 40 years ago). It is also the reason why policies aimed at helping them, like affirmative action, have such a low effectivity.

its funny people say discrimination is reduced substantially but if u call 20 employers and say your name is "Lavondrius" then call back and say your name is "Kevin" you'll get a lot more interviews as Kevin. same goes for looking for places to live, bank loans, etc. if the context is "get a job" systematic discrimination is still a very real thing.
