Everytime there are mass shootings you give all kind of reasons to why it may have happened and never once even question the tools which makes shootings possible.
Tell me about the mass murderer and NRA member Timothy McVeigh. I'm curious on your thoughts in regards to the ease by which people can get fertilizer.
Honestly, these bombings truly need to stop. Can't we just have some common sense fertilizer control?
The mass shooting happened because an 18 year old was able to enter a school uncontested and spend an hour murdering children while the "School Police Chief" told responding officers to stand down, US Marshals cuffed and otherwise prevented parents from entering, rather than entering themselves... We don't know how this poor 18 year old was able to afford $7K-9K worth of gear, we don't know how he managed to break the spending limit for a relatively new bank account in debit transactions, and we have zero idea why he'd choose an Elementary school, when it doesn't fit any profile whatsoever.
The point? Had there been armed security at the school willing to intervene, had the teacher who threw themselves in front of a child only to be murdered, and have the child be murdered as well merely been armed, had any of a dozen things occurred, the shooting would not have ended with 19 dead children ages 5-10. But somehow, rather than asking "We spend billions per year providing armed protection for politicians, athletes at SportsBallâ„¢ Games, DMV employees, Celebrities, Businesses, even many gated communities, why can't we simply provide a base level of security to the most vulnerable among us?" you immediately jump to "Why can't we just ban guns?" Because, genius. I can make a gun, and so can tens of millions of other people. I can make ammunition, and so can tens of millions of other people. Guns are here to stay. And in the end, who stopped the shooting? A Border Patrol Agent. AKA a good guy with a gun. "But there were other good guys with guns who stood around and did nothing!" would usually be the followup, to which I state clearly, "Those aren't good guys, and they all need investigated, because at this point, they all appear to be guilty of aiding and abetting in the murder of 19 children ages 5-10 and 2 adults.
