University of California professor and author, Kevin MacDonald, has been on the receiving end of Amazon’s new initiative to digitally burn books that certain groups find socially unacceptable. MacDonald’s book The Culture of Critique: An Evolutionary Analysis of Jewish Involvement in Twentieth-Century Intellectual and Political Movements has been banned from Amazon.

According to a tweet from MacDonald on March 11th, 2019, he acknowledged that his book is no longer available from Amazon either via kindle or as a paperback.

Looks like Amazon isn't done with their book burnings and the last round was just the start of a crackdown on subversive elements.
I think we're up to a total of ~16 books that have been banned by Amazon for expressing forbidden ideologies.

Lol. Jimmy Dore.

I watched like 2 of his videos and both were laughably vapid. It's like politics for preschoolers... Like his videos are a kind of biased infomercial for people who don't read good.

Who don't read well.

Boom roasted.

Moron.

Not sure if joking or not so...

Its a colloquialism. As a phrase it references and mocks through imitation those who don't read well by using incorrect grammar in a form of crude satire.

Sorry if you were just joking. My autism gets in the way of me working out when someone is not being serious. In person I do pretty well nowadays but through chat it's often impossible without clear signs.

MPAA has issued an R rating for the right-wing movie "Unplanned" about a planned parenthood executive who became a pro-life activist.
Theres no profanity, no gore, no violence and no sexual scenes to merit an R-rating, and right-wing actors and pundits signed a letter accusing the MPAA of ideological bias

Quote
According to the Reporter, the MPAA contends the R rating for Unplanned wasn’t political, and was instead assigned because of “some disturbing/bloody images.” Pure Flix, which doesn’t plan on appealing the decision, was clearly frustrated by the rating, as they were expecting a more on-brand PG-13. “A 15-year old girl can get an abortion without her parent’s permission but she can’t see this movie without adult supervision?,” company executive Ken Rather told the Reporter. “That’s sad.”

Ironically, it appears that the only justification for the MPAA's R rating was their argument that abortion itself is an act of violence;

Quote
‘Unplanned,’ which is based on a book by the same name, tells the story of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director who was involved in more than 22,000 abortions. One day, while Johnson was assisting in an ultrasound-guided abortion, she watched on the screen as a baby was aborted and found herself unable to continue her work at Planned Parenthood.

So by depicting that scene, they went right from PG to R rating

doubt we'll know until the movie is out
at which point neither you nor I will know anyway

also unrelated:
reddit banned watchpeopledie after they kept up the video from the mosque shooting, arguing that people should be allowed to choose for themselves whether to view an unfiltered reality

Unless it's something over the top it should be pg13 at the most

Even going back to the 80s some pretty adult stuff has ended up in g and pg and pg13

For that sort of film as long as parents have a general warning an r on the surface doesn't seem like a good call as long as they weren't trying to get something super gruesome through

I'd consider that story something legit to look into off the given details for censorship
