Is it really that hard to understand why 'we' do not want corporate America to get fully pulled into the ongoing partisan civil war; that we do not want them to take sides on issues that inherently have nothing to do with their actual business and forcing their hypocritical view on their employees?

Cancel culture is indeed a fucking cancer, and I wish Trump had come up with a more clever way of getting back at Goodyear. I nonetheless understand why he felt compelled to retaliate against them in the first place.

Trump is one of the largest proponents of cancel culture. It swings both ways.

In a normal, functioning society, Thor would absolutely be correct. However, Americans have no fucking idea how to punish people correctly. As a whole, Americans are abusing their rights and it's making society much worse.

Just cuz liberals would win.

You conservatives always want to change the rules when you start losing.

VIVA LA REVOLUCION!

I don't think liberals would win, at least not in their life time. Things move too slowly for that to happen.

It is if you're doing it over stuff that has nothing to do with the actual product.

Sure (customer service is part of a product), but what does that have to do with Goodyear?

do not treat employees equitably
tires lose tread too quickly
not clear if they were to blame for dale earnhardt
not clear if their employees hate me if i dont wear certain political attire

just makes for a lot of potential for a possibly bad product. zero internal controls at corporate too i wonder if they properly field test their product

rather go to goodrich or cooper. or hankook or toyo if i want to import. michilen there too. lots of options and dont need to ask questions like the ones above

But all those things have nothing to do if their employees are allowed to wear a MAGA hat...

anyways this is all covered by the free market being limited by consumer protection regulations. no one need a reason to buy a different tire. but if i need one then if they are selective in their treatment of employees i think they may be selective in their tire quality protocol

To repeat myself: it was Goodyear who started bringing up stuff that has nothing to do with their actual product. If they selectively suppress the expression of political opinion among their employees in a way that favors liberals/Democrats in brazen fashion, even though none of this has any impact on the quality of their products, then they are not really in a position to complain about customers boycotting them for reasons that have nothing to do with their actual product either.

That's for their employees. All employees are bound by that code of conduct/uniform policy. Therefore, they are all treated equally. People will view you how they view you regardless of their employment.

HR is a completely different department than quality/manufacturing. That's like saying Google search is bad because they offer "Be nice to faggots 101."
