I mentioned this whole thing to my wife and her question was: was he a young dumb man trying to get laid and was too aggressive? Or was he a married man and trying to get some side from a younger person who worked under him?
You look at the career of Joe Biden the worse application of this is that he has not been faithful to his wife who has been so supportive and who is really awesome.
At least with Trump you know he is a bad person when you go to vote..... fundamentally....he is selfish, paranoia, lacks empathy, he is the president of the whole country but constantly attacks half of the country etc....he isn't a good husband and he shames his wife by public affairs with low grade prostitutes like Stormy Daniels etc.
Does your wife really rate candidates mainly by the metric of "is he a good husband"? oO

Joe Biden is running as a good husband who wants to lead all Americans and not just some of the people who look enough like him and like him.
Sources for this statement desperately needed. Would Biden be more responsible in his behavior and the way he governs the country? Probably. Well.. at least on the days he remembers he's the POTUS and not a Senator from Delaware.
But I really dont see a reason to assume that he would care any more about Trump voters and their interests than Trump cares about Democrats.

[...] because he is a Democrat and they're just a lot better in terms of talent and ideas and quality.
Yeah, right. And because the Democrats are so much better in terms of talent, ideas and quality, they managed to lose to a fucking joke like GWB. Twice. Followed by nominating Hillary Clinton despite her being more unpopular than any other presidential nominee before her had been in American history. She lost. To Donald fucking Trump. And now, out of a historically huge and diverse field, they decided to go with the 77 year old white dude who struggles to tell his sister and wife apart. All because they are bursting with talent and quality.

Doesn't matter if the Republican party leaves the economy in the shitter every time they get in office
The economy was thriving under Trump, the country saw record-low unemployment numbers before a global pandemic wrecked it, which no sane person can blame on Trump.
Reagan left the economy in a good state, as did GHW Bush (the 91 recession was already over by the time of the 92 election, he just lost because the perception was already baked in; and perhaps because the country was sick and tired of Republicans after 12 years...)

now we have a crisis someone like Obama for example would have the US in much better shape right now than Trump
On the health and public messaging side of things, that's undeniably true. In terms of the economy, I dont think so. Trump did the necessary and only thing he could do in this situation: pass a huge stimulus and send checks directly to the people. Up until this point, there is nothing that Obama could have done better in his place for the economy.

Trump will be reelected and we will go into a minor recession that will become much worse through the actions of our administration.
Trump's reelction imho hangs up in the air.
The recession will not be minor, it will be huge. How long it lasts is the big question; it might be sharp but short-lived, or sharp and long-lasting. But that's something only time will tell.

I wish the people who were voting for trump because of the country being on fire due to immigration knew what a real crisis was instead of getting mad about standing around and doing nothing with all that racism and boredom.
Yeah, exactly - the crucial voters who swung the 2016 election in Trump's favor voted for him after having voted for Obama just 4 years prior - not because they were desperate after decades of job losses, communities bleeding out and the country changing in the wrong direction, no, they were bored and privileged and therefore focused on imaginary luxury problems. Makes total sense.
