Redefine God or perfection?
I don't think anyone believes in a fallible God. I'm just following that to its logical conclusion. Christianity isn't Zoroastrianism.
You can't have free will without consciousness. The fruit in Eden was from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
You can see it as a redefinition of God or Perfection. You've either redefined perfection as "what we have now" or you've redefined God as a rather mundane yard stick.
I'd say I disagree that people don't believe in a fallible God. There are plenty of Christians that believe in an infallible God and a fallible God at the same time. They play this contradictory tap dance where his plan is perfect but will change it for prayer. Not all Christians mind you, I've also heard people say "God will answer a prayer as long as it doesn't contradict his overall plan for you" so there's also that.
I mean, yeah, but humans are conscious. So? That doesn't really say anything and isn't even a response to what you were responding to. Might as well be talking about egg prices. However if you say the human experience is one of free-will then it's at least a coherent response to the idea that since humans are flawed the design is flawed.
