I'm not sure these figures mean what they SEEM to mean. I'm guessing that this is just the EU's way of getting compromises in other areas. Sort of a trading piece.

Either way I think it's more a case of the EU maneuvering for a better bargaining position with regards to other issues. I don't believe they are really concerned with the UK's use of the crime database.

Israel is a democracy and the leading country in the Middle East for pretty much every economic measure as well as ranking high in freedom of religion and science.
