If Trump was a Russian asset and compromised by Russia, why did they not start their invasion of Ukraine during his presidency, so that they can benefit from a weaker, less coordinated Western response?
If Trump was in cahoots with the Russians, why didn't he and his administration leave enough loopholes in the 2020 election so that the Russians could steal it for him, or that Russian bots and troll farms could swing public opinion to enable his reelection?

Did you only start paying attention to politics in 2016 or what? The US society has been bitterly divided on politics since at the very least 2000; the division already saw a big surge under Obama. This division was the reason why the Trump campaign hit a nerve to begin with. If Trump ran the exact same campaign in 2012 or 2004, he'd have lost in a landslide.

Also note that the biggest division/polarization on the 2020 campaign trail came from covid and the "summer of BLM" with its mostly peaceful protests. Neither of which was the work of the Russians. If anything, it was the liberal side, their activists and their media allies which whipped the climate of the 2020 election into a frenzy.

If you base your opinion on the unverified (and in some aspects outlandish) claims of a former KGB agent, I really don't know what to say...
