"Why Biden's lead vs Trump isnt as solid as it looks":

A good read if you're a data nerd or an elections wonk.

Wait, are there people who think the election is anything other than a coin flip?

I mean, we're still 6 months out and just now at the peak of coronavirus infections. Aint nobody knows what 2020 has left for us.

We have a president whose approval ratings were far underwater to begin with, who had staked his reelection on a booming economy, now having to deal with a global pandemic which has ravaged the economy and public life, has laid bare all his personal shortcomings, has shifted focus of the political debate to topics which are bad for him and his party (healthcare, good government mattering). There is nothing he could do to make this crisis go away, the mistakes that he already made were significant and will come back to haunt him, and now his challenger is ~6% ahead in most national polls. And to top it all off, the pandemic might change the way the campaign is fought (no big rallies) in a way that takes away his greatest campaigning skill and covers the weaknesses of his challenger.

Sure, a lot can still change between now and election day - but someone who would bet even money on Trump's reelection as of today is an idiot. Right now, this race defintely is not a coinflip. Trump has to turn things around from where we stand today, if he doesnt, then he's doomed. Dont get me wrong though, I'm not saying he's a huge underdog. Running against a very underwhelming challenger who has glaring weaknesses of his own, coupled with his likely advantage in the electoral college, mean that Trump still has a decent shot at reelection. I would say in the 30-40% range, but definitely below 50%.

I ate as a restaurant called Seoul Taco last night. It's one of our staples. We eat from there once a week minimum. It's god damn amazing.

Anyway, I went from weighing 221lb that morning to weighing 230lb tonight, and it's all water weight from the massive amounts of salt. I'm still pissing yellow despite drinking like 10lb of water in the last 24 hours.

If you have any kind of heart problem stay away, but if you don't god damn you owe it to yourself to get a Bulgogi Beef Burrito.

I mentioned this whole thing to my wife and her question was: was he a young dumb man trying to get laid and was too aggressive? Or was he a married man and trying to get some side from a younger person who worked under him?

You look at the career of Joe Biden the worse application of this is that he has not been faithful to his wife who has been so supportive and who is really awesome.

At least with Trump you know he is a bad person when you go to vote..... fundamentally....he is selfish, paranoia, lacks empathy, he is the president of the whole country but constantly attacks half of the country etc....he isn't a good husband and he shames his wife by public affairs with low grade prostitutes like Stormy Daniels etc.

Joe Biden is running as a good husband who wants to lead all Americans and not just some of the people who look enough like him and like him.

And terms of equivalency these things are not equivalent. Trump has a much lower bar set for his behavior and his actions and Biden has to meet that higher standard, because he is a Democrat and they're just a lot better in terms of talent and ideas and quality. You can be a huge piece of shit like Donald Trump and thrive in the GOP because they're fear voters and looking for a strongman to make it all better.... Doesn't matter if the Republican party leaves the economy in the shitter every time they get in office....they accept it is always the previous guy's fault lol.

The economic growth that began under Barack Obama is ending, and orange man golfing didn't fuck it up, but now we have a crisis someone like Obama for example would have the US in much better shape right now than Trump and his absenteeism. He finally shows up to work and speaks and Lysol has to answer phones to tell people not to drink it because they're Trump supporters, and we all know what that means (they will drink the lysol because they've drank the kool aid already ).

Trump will be reelected and we will go into a minor recession that will become much worse through the actions of our administration.

I wish the people who were voting for trump because of the country being on fire due to immigration knew what a real crisis was instead of getting mad about standing around and doing nothing with all that racism and boredom.

Trump being re elected would not be coming up from the rear or bringing a victory out of defeat. I would just be another demonstration on how big the incumbant advantage is in a 2 person race.... And the reality is that for somebody to not get reelected there has to be a 3rd party splitting that ideological vote.

We are a spoils system. No matter how many people in the country thinks their president is a stinker they still don't wanna be a loser.

Trump has been so successful in getting people to hate the Democratic Party that they hate the Democratic Party more than he sucks and that is his strategy. You either show up and vote for him or you're voting for Nancy Pelosi. Great fucking instincts.
