what i find even more interesting is totally disregarding all of the various African states and what was actually going around in the continent.

i should point out that some people don't quite seem to grasp the idea that in actual history science isn't measured by beakers etc., and that technology doesn't work like it does in Civilization-games.
apparently to many people civilisation itself is defined solely by the amount of powdered wigs per capita produced
when worn by whites, it's called leather, but when by blacks it's animal skins
not to mention the fact that mud (or ground) has actually been used as a building material just about everywhere on the planet (including the U.S. and the Anglosphere in general until recently). it's just the fact that white peoples' mud huts are much more civilised than black peoples' mud huts are.
