the footage was FAKE created by RIGHT WING fraudsters that are part of the DEEP STATE

alright guy, we got it.

lets just say its fake for your sake...back on topic.

Why should an established holiday be taken off the calendar for a sport? Makes no sense.
The sport can always be played on a Saturday...also- why does the next day need to be off? the game isn't played that late- you know why? the country is overran by alcohol and that keeps the mass under the influence of the gov't. Much easier to control people under the influence. Creates tickets, jobs for cops, court, any city work- generates tons of money for a bunch of crap that is essentially unessential to humanity/living.

I stopped drinking this year- and it is insane how poorly people that drink handle themselves in the professional setting. These people are the "ugh its monday" "oh i cant wait for friday" people. What the hell do the days have to do with anything? think about it.

You know what it is? I’ll tell you what it is. It’s anti-Italian discrimination. Columbus Day is a day of Italian pride. It’s our holiday, and they wanna take it away.

fuck them! ... but i never liked columbus. in napoli, a lot of people are not so happy for columbus - because he was from genova. the north of italy always have the money and the power. they punish the south since hundreds of years. even today, they put up their nose at us, like with peasants. i hate the north!

well - lets address this first:

I think whatever Columbus did wasn’t as bad as what Kaepernick did

do you know what Columbus did? and Im not talking about what you learned in 4th-grade social studies. do you really know what he did?
if you have a modicum of common sense, you wouldn't ever compare Kaepernick kneeling to a colonizer committing untold atrocities on a people that welcomed him and his crew with not only open arms but GIFTS!
native Americans swam out to the settlers' ships with gifts and were met with torture and genocide. personally, I don't really give a shit about the Superbowl or whether or not the day after should be a holiday but at this point, ANYTHING replacing Columbus day would be a-ok with me.
the fewer holidays we have that celebrate genocide, the better. can we agree on that?

oh yea! Italy is a country of so many cities (city states if you will) and they are all individual. I always found that so unique. I also heard that football (what americans call soccer...) gets really intense, especially in italy vs italy games. People have so much pride for their cities and where they come from. I really would like to visit Palermo.

OK i have no problem agreeing with you- but can you send me some links to some good resources that show Columbus was this genocide causing, torture guy?
im not for genocide or torture and agree with you that that is wrong. What i do say though is that how do we know what happened? how do we know what orders he was under and what the environment was like at that time? it was not uncommon for people to have war and fight with each other, im sure that there was tons of miscommunication even back then.

What i do want to add, regardless of everything we can discuss, we should admit that the man made a voyage across the Atlantic and was successful. I find that to be more of a feat than a game played by over-payed babies. Please agree with that.

I would start by reading A People's History of the United States by the late historian Howard Zinn for starters. miscommunications aside, he and his crew barbarized every native american they came across out of pure greed for their gold and resources.
there is countless evidence online and in print that proves this https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/columbus-exposed-as-ironfisted-tyrant-who-tortured-his-slaves-6094870.html

he was a greedy, murderous psychopath. nothing more and nothing less. the fact that he managed to sail his boat across an ocean doesnt really mean shit when you take in the consequences of that journey. besides, Leif Erikson did it first anyway

ill do some reading, thank you!
and yep! Leif Erikson did do it first! I am not read on him either but im positive he was a viking- they were pretty brutal folk as well.
Not condoning any psychopathic murderous behavior, but i must repeat that it was a different time 600 years ago. And even different when Erikson did it.

Think of how information travels today. You might tell your friend something and 10 friends down, the story is completely different. Im not trying to argue that history is not accurate, but it is retold based on accounts of a story.

the Columbus legend is just another example of Americans white-washing our own history to make things not seem as bad as they were. Columbus surely wasnt the only colonizer to do what he did, and while that doesnt excuse him, I dont think he should have his own holiday and we certainly shouldnt celebrate him. just my own .02
