I am in favor of the establishment, if what you mean by that is the established, sustainable political order maintained in the US and abroad which enables prosperity and freedom for a significant segment of the world population.

The world is prosperous despite the political order in the US...

I'm against people like Gabbard and Greenwald who seek to upend that order, which would give way to tyrants asserting themselves more into domestic and international politics

Then you should be against the CIA. They overthrow world governments and assassinate democratically elected leaders.

So why isn't the free market manifesting alternatives to Amazon Web Services?

I am sure Amazon would try to thwart emerging business rivals. Barrier to entry is a real thing. A lot of companies do this.

Also, if private businesses are forbidden by law from refusing services to certain demographics (the public accommodation law), then the same thing should also happen to Amazon...

Well, to start, I think it's weird that Greenwald is somehow a laudable figure for you, as you were not one of the people back in the day opposing the "security state", which I think is a silly euphemism on it's face. I think such a radical change in your views merits an explanation, because Bogie was always more establishment neo-con than I ever was.

But also, no serious observer of American governance can claim that only Democrats were the "offenders" against Greenwald's ideology. It's simply absurd to claim Trump was the anti-war, civil libertarian hero. But Greenwald didn't feel the need to criticize him, because as I hinted at, he hates Democrats, the MSM, and the "establishment" far more than he cares about enforcing some ideological viewpoint.

That's what I mean when I say that polarization is toxic. I don't think of Greenwald in really positive terms. I disagree with him on most things. But he has been a consistent voice for individual liberty in the face of government interference, even where I disagree. I was going to say "not in the same way as Gabbard", but then I bothered to reach Tulsi's wikipedia page and it looks like she has always been deviant on foreign policy (critical of US narratives overseas) and social issues (anti-gay marriage) in a way that does make her an outcast in the present Democratic party. Parties change, and sometimes individuals remain the same. The same is probably true for you. Not everyone is a lifelong partisan like Biden who adapts to the middle of whatever political climate the Democratic party finds itself in.

As for myself, when I was younger, I thought government bureaucracy was up for the task. I thought they could handle themselves in a non-partisan way, even as political parties fell prey to the dysfunction of the day. I don't think the evidence supports that anymore. I was always a bit of an outcast from the old Republican party because I thought government could be part of the solution. I am an outcast now from the present Republican party because I don't hate experience. But the current system is clearly not working, and trusting the "experts" who led us through the last 20+ years of dysfunction is the definition of insanity, i.e. doing the same thing and expecting different results. We need to try something new.

But why wouldn't the free market correct this, as consumers would surely pursue a provider that doesn't thwart emerging business rivals, no?

"Because I attended two meetings with Twitter representatives in July and August 2020 wherein the Hunter Biden story was discussed within the larger framework of election integrity"

The NY Post story didn't come out until October 14th.

nice smackdown.

Typical blind parroting of the narrative from an NPC.
Imagine hating and mocking one of the few prominent journalists with integrity.

Spoiler: 'lol taibbi' and lying about someone loving Trump are not intelligent takedowns either.

You don't have to "love him" to carry water for him. NPC indeed. And so the Post sat on the story until it could do the most damage. Nice journalistic integrity you're simping for.

This was the Taibbi tweet he was responding to:

Quote (taibbi)
Although several sources recalled hearing about a “general” warning from federal law enforcement that summer about possible foreign hacks, there’s no evidence - that I've seen - of any government involvement in the laptop story. In fact, that might have been the problem...

Even if he had evidence that Taibbi had not seen, that wouldn't be a smackdown either. It would merely ADD to the evidence of government and politicians being involved in censorship.

"After talking with sources I haven't seen evidence of x'

'well i attended meetings and have firsthand knowledge of x'

journalist SMACKDOWN!!! yay censorship is good now!

A libertarian disagreeing with TDS leftists on some issues isn't 'carrying water' for Trump.
Thats just a slimeball mischaracterization in an invalid attempt to detract from what I say.

Even if Twitter did censor things and/or have an intentionally biased pro-leftist algorithm, why is that bad? It's a genuine question because I think it's only possible to have a potential answer to that question if Twitter held some kind of majority/influential stake in our country's formation of understanding and development of political opinion.

That is pretty concerning in its own right, if that is the case.
