When Michael Brown was shot dead attacking a police officer (and wrestling for control of his gun), the result was the Ferguson riots. When Jacob Blake, wanted and armed, resisted arrest, and shrugged off non-lethal attempts to subdue him, he was shot, and we got the Kenosha riots.

White Tony Timpa was unarmed, called the police and told them he needed help, and was promptly placed in a prone position, knee on neck, until he was dead. The officers joked about it! But there were no riots because it doesn't play into the race-baiting that news media sells you for clicks.

With the information provided there is no way you can place blame on the police. Knife in hand, guns get drawn. Day one in police academy.
