Who wanted Biden?

Hillary would've been better though.

Crossbones you were cheering when Trump was being held responsible for all shit that happened during his presidency.

Now Biden is POTUS, he's responsible. You should man up and stop crying about it.

I was crying about trump because he is an actual POS.
I have criticized Biden on a few things. Gas prices isn't one of them.
** edit its great that you actually dismiss the point all the crying about Socialism the R does, they actually WANT. They want the pres. to just say GAS IS 3.00!
thanks all.

I think Biden's done a good job as president. He pulled us out of a 20 year war and passed an infrastructure bill, both things Trump promised to do and failed to deliver on.

Trump gets like 35% credit. He could have done it in his own term and Biden could have called it off.

I'd say we need to distinguish between the decision to leave Afghanistan and how this decision was executed on the ground.

Responsibility for the withdrawal happening: 60% Trump/40% Biden.
Responsibility for the disastrous execution of the withdrawal: 25% Trump / 75% Biden.

With the caveat that I think that Trump would also have fucked up the withdrawal to some degree had he still been president. Not as badly as Biden though.
Under Trump, the Taliban would still rule Afghanistan right now.

Disagree on who gets credit for the withdrawal happening. Biden could have axed it first day in office. The person in charge as it happens who had the authority to make it not happen automatically gets 51%.

Biden executed the withdrawal about as well as it could have been executed. The withdrawal would have been about as much of a shit show under any president. You're also living in a fantasy land if you think Trump would have done it better.

Ofc he's responsible for the high gas prices funny that you didn't get that...

It's OK, you are wrong. Biden has zero control over an oil companies production.

The industry is still trying to recover its losses from during the pandemic, when demand for oil cratered and prices briefly plunged to negative levels. Likewise, while the number of active rigs in the U.S. continues to rise after that 2020 crash, oil companies, like most other industries, are struggling to hire workers and procure equipment amid the ongoing supply chain backlog.

Crude oil was trading around $126 per barrel Tuesday, 58 percent higher than the roughly $80 per barrel it was at before Russia’s aggression against Ukraine roiled the market. That price, which makes up over half the total cost per gallon of gas, is based on global demand — something Biden has even less control over than how much your local Exxon station charges.

Inertia is a thing in politics. Reversing a decision is more difficult than going through with it. In particular, the war in Afghanistan had become unpopular with the American public. Even after the disastrous drawdown, there are still majorities in polls who say that the decision to leave was correct. So it would have taken Biden a substantial amount of political capital to reverse Trump's decision on Afghanistan while it took him almost none to stick with the plans of his predecessor. Trump had made it a lot more easy for Biden to follow his instincts against the pressure of the military-industrial complex.

But fine, if you wanna say its 45% Trump 55% Biden, I'm okay with that too.

This, however, is a completely delusional take. If you think the shitshow that we witnessed was "about as well as it could have been executed", it is you who's living in a fantasy land. For instance, nobody forced the Biden admin to start the drawdown by giving up Bagram Air Base - and that's a blunder that he can't blame on Trump.

Except that staying in Afghanistan would have been easy. It being unpopular with the American public doesn't matter one bit, which is why we were there for 20 years. He would have come out and said "Oh, we can't leave safely, so we'll delay it a bit longer" just like Obama did, just like Trump did until he had one foot out the door.

There's been plenty of testimony by military brass on why they gave up Bagram. It was impossible to maintain without a significant expenditure of forces backing up the Afghani government. It was not some unilateral decision by Biden to give up the air base. Trump would have had the same generals telling him the exact same thing.

The plans have been in motion since the end of WWII. The elites didn't know exactly what world they were going to build but had a pretty good idea. Permanent serf class.

You'll own no home!
You'll own no car!
You'll eat no meat!
Your livelihood and health will be reliant one being in the good graces of the ruling class!
Get in your pod!

You will own nothing and you will be happy.

They start wars to ensure this eventuality, the fight is lost.
