If China invades Taiwan where does the line get drawn? I could see a world war happening, Biden has been shown to be more of a follower than a leader. Unless another country steps up there is potential for more land take overs.

It has been too long. Most people have no idea what a WW3 would look like. Real war is forgotten. A not insignificant number of people think it would be great fun as a result. I also think WW3 is unlikely, but I wouldn't count out the possibility. Not one leader in any nation was around to see WW2 in person on the front lines. Those who forget are doomed to repeat, and there's plenty forgotten.

Russia and China have different geopolitical motivations and temperaments. China favors preserving status quo, reinforcing their borders and exerting economic sphere of influence over the world. Their fear is internal collapse and balkanization, and their policies are aimed at preserving their country not expanding it. Putin is playing the great game like he's a 19th century monarch, borderline irredentism as he reconstitutes parts of the union, but mostly defined by his reciprocal escalations against the west in proxy wars and struggles for the mideast and eastern europe. China knows they are in the lead and wants to cement it, not suffer the fate of the USSR. Putin dreams of recapturing the USSR's glory.
There really isn't an appetite in China for invading Taiwan. They don't need it, they don't want it, they are too risk averse to take such a foolish move.

The experience of WWI led not to how to avoid the next world war, but directly to it. Exactly what "experience" is it that you think we have? We developed the United nations to prevent this, but Russia's place on the Security Council assures that the UN will be completely inept here too.
