So what do you like?
Landscaping the most to be honest. Expensive though. These little dwarf trees cost a lot. My buy list now: Blue Spruce dwarf globe form, weeping white pine tree "pendula", and a shishigara japanese red maple because my dog ate my Rhode Island Red (lol). I made huge flowerbeds with large 6x6s during the pandemic, was some cheese to buy that wood then but I had all that time at home and cash to burn so I lived at home depot redoing my whole house outside and in.
I have an aquarium, with real fish instead of cartoon animals. 75 gallon. I had a 150 gallon but sold it was too much work and when I'm depressed it is hard to keep up with. I've lost fish because I neglected them due to depression and I just had to cut back on fish. I used to breed Central American Cichlids, met wild people doing that, people who will drive three states with a cooler and a battery powered air pump and heater to get a flowerhown I cross bred. Now I keep Bosemani Rainbowfish and fancy plecos and rasboras.
I enjoy my career alot but its very hard. Getting better at staring into the abyss and not letting it stare back so to speak. Its a weird sector of the economy. Today I helped a person process a sexual assault they experienced while they were drugged, then wrestled with a crazy person who was trying to break her head open who pissed all over us during the code violet, then spoke with someone's family about a prognosis, and later tried to help a psychotic guy with covid and the flu leave the hospital while he just lives in the woods and it is cold in Ohio. Weird doing all that and then engaging in relatively normal stuff and be engaged and not hypervigilant because I've been in a dangerous pressure cooker for 8 hours doing intensive problem solving the biggest problems of the day. But I love doing all that. The struggle alone is enough to fill one's heart.
Sometimes I come here and blow off steam, be a dick to people while the stakes are low and I don't always have to be at my best or even on good behavior. I also learn a lot debating although political discourse has been garbage for a few years.
Oh, I listen to the Kings and Generals youtube channel, where they talk about historical events and important or weird battles in great detail.

He likes to watch through a keyhole while I talk to his mother about pokemon. It's fine, as long as he don't make a sound we let him stay

I know that many betas love pointing out that guns did that without connecting or addressing the real issue here is why?
My take is there is psychological issues with the kid. Maybe he got bullied, maybe doesn't come from a good home, maybe he identifies as a toaster and it's his duty to cleanse the sinners. But I would start there first
His access to handguns would be a starter for real.
When I was a kid all we could get were ninja weapons at flea markets.
