Their whole argument was that he may have been the same guy who had been seen going into an unoccupied house in the neighborhood. You can't stalk and confront a person because of suspicions. I don't know that they set out to murder the man but their actions lead to that being exactly what happened.

You can't claim self defense when you're the aggressor. Unlike Rittenhouse who was trying to flee from people, these morons were hunting the victim down.
