he’s got a point look how desolate and directionless so much of the population is. 250k might seem a lot but it’s probably accurate now in any sort of city or relatively affluent suburb where dual income is necessary to get ahead and send kids to proper schools. plus throw in prices of everything from everyday goods to materials being fubar. hard to save when youre a working/middle class person that has to pay $50 to gas up with unleaded. also that 250k is closer to 150k post taxes and a great deal of the population is saddled with all sorts of debt.

tcock and i are probably around the same age; growing up one could still have a relatively high-earning houshold with just one worker and one stay a home parent and still be solidly middle class +. not a failsafe scenario for a decent upbringing but still reasonable.

i get all your points, its still an amount of money that at least 95% of families do not have and never will

but yeah, 6 figures are necessary to escape the worst in the america

i grew up in the 90s and can report the same, my dads salary was plenty for everything including a nice 4 week vacation every single year for 4 people

now they are happy enough to afford a vacation at all with two incomes and no children to pay for, its crazy how the living standard has gone down and most people are completely ignorant

which is what the powers that be want. they want the former achievables of the middle class to be out of reach. jack up prices on everything and then blame the few who manage to achieve it as the “enemy” who needs to pay more taxes

I am only speaking for myself but when I talk about "income redistribution", I am not talking about the middle to upper-middle classes. I want obscenely wealthy capitalists (think the owners of wal-mart, Bill gates, the Rothschilds..etc) to give some of their wealth to the rest of us. I am 99.999% sure they did not earn their wealth, most of it was earned for them by their middle-class employees. True middle class, the ones who studied in school, worked hard to achieve what they have now, are not my target.

while the powers that be (politicians across all the political spectrum, media, hollywood types etc.) may say this, they then push legislation and tax policies which only further tax the upper-middle, middle, and working class

problem is even if you permit wealth tax of these rich families a: the govt spending will dry up the funds instantly and b: now they will apply wealth tax to the middle-class family who has a mortgage on their house and two cars that are financed

no, most people cant handle money so it would be a gigantic waste with absolutely zero results

clearly looks like it, the "this is fine" and "if you have no bread, eat cake" vocabulary is the same in both the us and europe

just yesterday the vice president of the EU parliament went on a talkshow here and told people to buy new windows and insulate their homes more, if they cant afford heating

absolute genius and medieval style disdain for regular people

Good argument for the government controlling most people's spending. Just give them alotments of food, housing, etc. More efficient right?

DEAR ABBY: I have a 23-year-old daughter, “Julia,” who I am close with. She has been in a relationship with “Joey,” a guy her age, for four years and living with him for the last 16 months. Joey’s a great kid who hasn’t had a lot of support in his life. I have been like a mother to him, and we are very close. He works hard, earned a college degree and plans on a career in law enforcement. I love him like my own.

The issue is, Julia has been working a part-time evening job. She works with a man I’ll call “Nick,” who is 10 years older and has a child. She has started having an affair with him. She claims to love Joey but is “torn” because she’s bored and wants to “have fun.” I am upset and devastated.

From the sound of him, Nick doesn’t have many great qualities. I believe she’s making a grave mistake and risks losing a great future. I have tried getting her to see it, but I don’t think I’m getting through. Should I continue or back off and see what happens? I feel like I am betraying Joey because I know about this. — TORN-APART MOM

yeah great idea, instead of stupid people give an incompetent government failing the simplest tasks all the money

money belongs in the hands of competent people, who have earned it and there is no excuse for being poor
