Uhm. The very first thing you get asked in Pokemon is "Are you a boy or a girl?".

It's not really a mystery as primary sex characteristics sort that out just fine

Do you really see value in spending time educating children on what gender they are?

I see a lot of value in educating kids out of gender stereotypes. Making sure to let girls know they're fine if they don't want to wear dresses, and boys are fine if they don't want to play sports. Anything that goes towards the ultimate goal of eliminating gender as a meaningful category is okay in my book. IMO it's a largely useless categorization.

Sounds like a lot of work to change something that should be natural. Doesn’t seem normal or right to me. You’re going out of your way to fuck with children at that point IMO. If they don’t want to play sports they will let you know, they don’t need to be told. Part of growing up is figuring shit out for yourself, parents need to learn to let their kids be kids. Just seems unhealthy imo

In today’s age it’s not just telling a girl she doesn’t have to wear a dress. Now they are abusing their children and telling little boys they should wear dresses etc. sick fucks tbh

It should be natural, but it isn't. We still have a lot of really dumb societal pressures that should be eliminated, and educating the next generation is part of that process.

The cases where a little boy is forced to wear a dress against his will are few and far between, but the cases of a little boy being made to play sports he doesn't want to because "that's what boys do" is still incredibly common. Both are bad IMO, but one is actually happening with frequency. And to be clear, I was forced to play sports I didn't want to, and I don't consider that to be bad. My mom was clear in elementary that she was going to make me play a sport until 7th grade, and then I could stop if I wanted, and it was the same with my sister. She kept playing sports and I didn't. That's fine, it wasn't put on me as something "boys do".

I'm fine with teaching the sexual differences between people, and I think we should teach kids about intersex individuals around the same time so it isn't such a foreign concept when adults learn about it. But gender is not sex, and expectations put on genders or sexes are ridiculous.

There is plenty of value in the male gender stereotype as it is key to ensuring we have a robust workforce of men who can do the heavy lifting to move society forward and protect the nation. Any man that cant provide for his family (barring medical conditions) is simply garbage. There are some serious mental health issues that come about from a society that sees men as expendable that needs to be addressed but as flawed as the norms are it's responsible for modern civilization and a significant deviation may impede progress.

Female gender stereotypes are terrible as it encourages them to be useless airheads that provide no value to society. I don't care about the colour pink or dresses but why are dolls and kitchen toys a thing for girls? They should be encouraged to get into engineering, sciences, law etc. From a young age. They should also be taught not to be cunts to other women.
