Instead of having ANY minimum wage at all, allow multiple unions to operate in the same shop.

maybe you got other sources since this mise.org is now considered as a far alt-right think tank lead by a nazi ?
"damage done by minimum wage" is already showing us the... color
what if it's only 15$ instead of 24$ ? any idea to protect small business and independant start-ups? what about more welfare services instead of pure money ?
i know you will avoid, but please try to developp on a common ground

Considered far-right by the far-left should be a badge of honor.

Ineffective or outright impracticable in many service jobs.

Works pretty well in the Nordic countries. Isn't that the argument liberals make all the time? Let's emulate the Nordic countries?

These countries have a different economic and socio-demographic structure. On top of that, and perhaps even more importantly, the Nordic countries have very strong and generous social safety nets which are indirectly equipping their workers with bargaining power. Because people in these countries are not 2 months without a wage removed from sleeping under a bridge, they can afford to not take each and every shit from employers. Even workers on the low end of the job market are in a much stronger negotiating position in these countries compared to their American counterparts. Against this backdrop, even wages for low skill jobs will not collapse in the absence of government regulation via minimum wages or similar measures.

I was going to say no but the australian minimum wage has convinced me higher wages are possible without messing things up 🤔

On the flip side i dont see why we cant eliminate the minimum wage if we provide robust safety nets. More projects for the poor people.

why does the cashier's wage effect the price of BigMac, & fries, but not the CEO, VP etc.?

Decisions made in management are made to improve the company's bottom line generating more value for the owners.

Arbitrarily raising costs via a minimum wage hike increases costs without increasing the value generated by the labour of the cashier and the business needs to find ways to offset the increase in costs so you're looking at layoffs or price hikes.

I don't think million dollar salaries have zero effect on consumer price
