Best I've gotten is Cuomo could have better navigated federal red tape after the nursing homes were infected

The red tape described in the times article that I posted was not federal, it took place within the specific healthcare system of NYstate or NYC.

No one should be shocked that a city is a pit of disease. I give props to Cuomo for ensuring maximum boomer fatalities though, now enlightened Gen Z lads can floss over their shallow mass graves.

I don't think it's possible for any American leader to succeed on COVID. Our wonderful multicultural multiracial wealth divided nation is defined by distrust. A racially homogeneous white nation or obedient Asian nation would do well, but not this freakishly mutt country.

On some level I agree with this, but not having a president who actively made things worse would have at least made it not as bad.
