We get these winter storms on average once per decade or so, and historically, we have for at least the last 2 to 3 centuries. They vary in intensity. This is not the worst, nor the most mild. They all occur in Februrary.
It's a well-established weather pattern. It's not "reinforced" by "global warming" unless your claim is that "global warming" pre-exists the industrialized world.
