My take: Graham (head of the judiciary committee) is going to put himself first. He is in a close race and he's going to do whatever it takes to come out on top. Personally, I think the best play here is to use the vacancy to turn out the vote. A lot of right leaning people may come home to Trump. I'm not convinced that Dems will turn out more because Trump should already be a good enough reason.

That Schumer "quote" is him using Mitch McConnell's exact words from 2016.

looks like republicans have enough votes to get this done. mitt romney will vote for the nominee, the mormon church will not allow a pass on this one. pence can break the tie if needed for 51.

Pretty sure Ezra Klein predicted this. Supreme Court picks are going to be completely subject to who holds power. There will no longer be bipartisan picks going forward. And Trump appointing someone and getting them confirmed, whether before or after the election, will cement that rule.

If rowe vs wade is overturned abortion as a right will end up as a constitutional amendment guaranteed.

Compared to a 3rd LIFETIME supreme court appointment, RvW is... nothing.
