The real windfall for Democrats arent even illegals who somehow manage to cast a vote, it's the US-born children of illegals. The 14th amendment directly translates illegal immigration into votes for Democrats, just with a delay of 20-30 years.

Also, you guys keep saying "windfall" but I don't think a few isolated cases here and there amounting to little more than a rounding error counts as a windfall. As we all know, the facts, as proven by the Republican commission assembled to study the issue, show there is no major issue with illegals voting, and the few cases that have been found have mostly been Trump voters. They (radicalized Republicans on a mission to urge their followers to violence against immigrants) disbanded their committee with no recommendations because of this. Someone earlier mentioned "fanfic" - that's all this "illegals are voting for Democrats!" stuff is. Pure fiction.

Perhaps, but like I already explained: due to birthright citizenship, illegal immigration still leads to millions of additional votes for Democrats, just with a long delay.

If Republicans weren't such hateful, spiteful idiots, they'd be planning this better. Those immigrants come from a conservative culture. I'd be willing to bet they'd form a large moderate to conservative voting bloc if they weren't being constantly shit on by the right wing. 20-30 years of Republicans reaching out to immigrant communities with "pathways to citizenship" and "we'll support the DREAMers" and "our politics and religion are your politics and religion, let's work together" would accomplish a lot. Bush Jr. honestly had a lot of the right ideas, but failed utterly to bring the far right lunatics in his party on board.

Republicans are losing the culture war because they are isolating the very people who would shore up their own cultural preferences and shoving them into the other party.

Most hispanics are far to the left of the Republican party on economic issues.

Also, the GOP base really REALLY REALLY doesn't want open borders and huge-scale immigration, and would primary the fuck out of any party leadership who openly embraces such policies. Basically, that's the reason why the current president is Donald Trump instead of Jeb Bush.

If we had truly open borders, Americans would be able to get work from home jobs and simply buy mega mansions for pennies on the dollar in coastal Mexico. Works both ways. I also seriously doubt there would be any immigration floods. Germany wasn't invaded by Italians when the EU came into existence.

100%, ditch the "they're sending rapists" bullshit and Catholicism would net them way more votes.
