Seemed like the latest reference was a law in 1970 referring to the ban of a specific low-price firearm model supposedly used in a lot of crimes?
Which is pretty irrelevant today considering you can get a hi-point for under $200.
Also as a side note in the article, it references Castile as a law-abiding citizen in possession of a firearm.
"proudly supports the right of law-abiding Americans to carry firearms for defense of themselves and others regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation"
False. He was high on marijuana, operating a vehicle, in possession of a firearm (you can't legally carry under the effects of marijuana), with a child in the vehicle.
So he may have been a legal gun owners and been legally issued a permit to carry, but he was not in legal possession of the weapon.
I don't support the guy getting killed. But he would have faced a ton of charges as a result of the traffic stop.
Also another statistic..
"The Counted database found that African Americans, who make up around 12 percent of the country's population, constituted almost a quarter of the 1,092 killed by police in 2016."
What percentage and number of deadly weapon attacks (which in other cases deadly force by police may still be justified) on police are from an African American? These are all statistics and details conveniently left out.
