I don't think that's true... the rigged primary talk is overblown. Bernie didn't lose because of anything the DNC did.

It is overblown, but let's not undersell it either. Party elites have leeway to modify the rules to their benefit, and the media prefers the establishment so they can cultivate long term relationships and get access to stories they otherwise might not have. Party outsiders definitely start at a disadvantage.

That's not true at all. I agree that once the nominees are known to the public, the influence of the party is overblown. WAY overblown. However, prior to candidates announcing exploratory committees, they are communicating with allies, donors, etc. You've probably heard the term before (invisible primary) and THAT'S where the parties have some serious influence.
