Okay, so it's "preferable" relative to being outrightly hostile. But what we're discussing here is someone who was fired because they made known in advance that they weren't going to acquiesce by lying, and so were going for the least offensive position available to them (not only "degendering," but refusing to use a pronoun altogether). Do you personally feel this action taken by Stack Overflow was justified, and the correct action to take?
