It wasn't a war of vengeance. It was petrodollar warfare. Petrodollars are extremely important to the United States, so much so that Barack Obama waged his own petrodollar war.

Yah but wasn't it sold to the American people using 9/11? At least I remember the media and administration going out of their way to say Iraq and 911 in the same sentence as often as possible

I was like 12/13 when it started and definitely remember that from what I absorbed from media it was part of the War on Terror.
