Hey just to post something related with the topic:
US send troops - or experts- to help SA to protect their installations, because if SA fall, Petro-dollar may fall with it, followed by US, or a part of US, economy.
So basically US has to no other choice than to protect one of the most authoritarian and regressive regime in the world.
Talibans is still a problem but it's not related to the topic, they threatened to "hurt more than anyone" the US after Trump's dramatic break from negotiations on the conflict

The US will be just fine if middle eastern oil collapsed. There will be consequences but US and Canada have more oil than everyone else in the world and the US has more oil than anyone else , more natural gas than anyone else , and more nuclear energy than anyone else.

The reality is much worse. The US supports Saudi Arabia because they are more willing to buy our weapons to commit atrocities and they aren't as mad that Jews live in Israel.

Trump invited the Taliban to come to US soil days before 9/11 to have a reality show moment signing a peace deal. The attacks derailed that plan, so Trump called off negotiations.

It's kind of weak sauce to just quibble with one of my characterizations and not address any of my other points. But hey, you do you.

I think you minimize the important of the end of petro dollar.

But yes, even if it's not THAT big, considering SA Assets in US, they are just about to finish it hand-in-hand for sure. I don't understand what you meant about Israel.
I think the installations are easy to protect from drones, at least the simple ones.

If Trump wanted to have a 'reality show' moment wouldn't he have signed the peace treaty? Why would he 'derail' his own plan? By using the world derail, which has a negative connotation are you saying you would have wanted his reality show to happen or?

It's like no matter which scenario played out Drumpf is the center piece and you have something to blame him for. Your points are terrible and only betray how you view everything through the Trump lens, really bad way to approach news.
