I see your point... so you're saying it's not possible to ask very specific questions with how bad things have gotten?

most people see polls as a partisan referendum disguised as a poll on some other topic.

that sums it up nicely. people are weary of a trap. such as a population of republican voters who are worried that a headline will get printed that says "90% of republicans agree that a nominee shouldn't be voted onto the court if its proven they sexually assaulted someone". they appear to have overcorrected on this one.

but yeah, these polls aren't really credible on their face. u can see some neat trends but specifics are not reliable.
