When I violate the rights of mentally ill people who are dangerous, a couple times a month at least, as soon as I fill out and hit send on the fax machine their rights are in the toilet until a judge comes, sometimes taking several days, and substanciates my claim or releases them on the spot. They usually give me what I need. Also, I know how to stretch a 72 hour hold I to 5 or 6 days, before I would even have to do the first thing I mentioned.

We also take peoples' guns before we release them a lot...usually through family members or local authorities.

The social control vs individual rights vs healthcare confidentiality is a pretty messy to be ethical in.

I don't think electing someone because the other "team" hates them is a good idea. Pence might be a good president for other reasons.

Authoritarian conservatives have historically been terrible world leaders. Would him believing the world is 6000 years old bother the electorate? It would bother me even if I agreed with most policy.

why would it bother you if he had good policy and it was irrelevant to his presidency? Does someone have to believe in the same religious beliefs as you to be your leader?
