Speech with government-induced consequence isn't free.
If I own a news station and a newscaster has a podcast where he organizes a racist cult, I have a right to fire him. I'm exercising the right of my free speech to say "You're fired!"
People can infringe upon your rights.
Your example is not representative of our situation. We have fast food workers being fired for Halloween costumes worn outside of work after a tweet goes viral. We have comedians walking on egg shells self censoring themselves. We have CEOs being targeted for this socially acceptable form of lynching for stating religious beliefs.
We have a climate of fear created by ultra sensitive people who are addicted to outrage. In some cases they are activists who only seek to exploit situations to draw attention and money to their cause. In other cases it is people who like to grand stand and say look at what a great person I am that I'm outraged. There are also people who just like to pile on. In many cases the employer doesn't give a shit and is only responding to the lynch mob that is consisted of an extremely vocal fringe minority.
We have people that conflate offense with disagreement deciding for the rest of us what entertainment we are allowed to consume and forcing people with controversial opinions to lie, keep opinions to themselves, or express themselves at risk of losing their livelihoods.
I do not want my entertainment chosen for me by you liberal ducking idiots. I already lost my favorite radio show that helped get me through my work day. I don't want to live in a bland world where everyone is afraid to express themselves as acceptable terminology changes daily.
If that's what you call freedom then you're an idiot.
