Christians are Hindu atheists. They reject the Hindi gods. Atheists are just one step further where we reject both the Christian and Hindi gods.
Atheism, by itself, is not a sign of intelligence or free-thinking. Nor should it ever be anything more than the definition I gave.
That would be true if atheists weren't constantly bombarded with religious propaganda and attempts to subvert or belittle their position. The fact that in any arena of serious discussion we constantly have to justify our disbelief has made a generation of people who, by and large, are more likely to be able to think logically and critically.
Atheism is the position of disbelief in the divine. That IS all it should be. I agree.
Unfortunately, that isn't all it is.
