The guardian broke the news on the story, and the guardian says he worked in IT Security. He never graduated high-school and he got his first job because he was a security guard. He worked with computers, he's not an analyst, and even if he were that wouldn't necessarily give him the credentials to make a difficult political decision.

That would explain some of his decisions thus far.

IT security, doing presumably data analysis. No, it said he "lacked a diploma," not "didn't graduate." The military is not in the habit of accepting people for enlistment unless they at least achieve a GED. Honestly, do you think incompetent people are hired to work with computers? I seem to recall Bill Gates dropped out of college.

I'm not saying he was in a position to make a political decision, but he was in a position to make an informed one.

He was in a tech role, not a policy one. He was hired because he was good with computers, and it's a fact that he wasn't trusted to make those decisions.

I'm surprised that you're an advocate for a guy who openly subverted the democratic process and released information our elected representatives felt needed to be secure.

What democratic process? The one where the government wiretaps the citizens without knowledge or consent of the governed?

I am for the rule of law and a restrained federal government. This is the government going after whistle blowers (which Barry is unfortunately wont to do) and a gross overreach of power. They have proper channels for getting data, and that means a court order from a security clearance (secret) court. That's not what this is. This is data mining every single solitary American, regardless of our rights. Someone should be fired, and it isn't Snowden. What I am NOT, is for propping up an unchecked and patently non-transparent government going to any lengths "to keep us safe" when they have already done egregious harm to the rights we hold dear.

I find it ironic that Republicans vehemently oppose socialized healthcare because of "big government" and "government spending" yet they are OK with PRISM even though it is big government and big government spending. They allegedly support it because "it keeps people safe" - but not healthcare? Healthcare doesn't keep people safe?

Any Republican who doesn't oppose PRISM on the same grounds they oppose socialized medicine needs to take a good, long look at their RINO faces in the mirror.

I think he should be detained and face prison if he ever enters U.S. territory or extradition-agreed countries.
