So I can buy an unregistered gun off a crackhead, bury it loaded in my neighbor's yard in a Ziploc bag full of WD-40, report it to the cops, and he gets life in prison?

Sounds like a handy way to get rid of him.

If the neighbor was stashing a gun for the long term, he'd spray a bunch of wd40 in the bag so the gun would remain in working order once he pulled it back out of the ground. Especially since it's sealed, moisture will condense on the action and could make the gun jam without liberal application of wd40.

Ya, storing a gun in a sealed or moist environment without something like oil/grease/wd40/cosmoline/etc is a bad idea...
But also irrelevant.

Any time someone posts an obvious flaw to lifebanes plan it gets dodged...
Im not sure what the point of even posting in here is when any educated response is ignored or diverted.

even when the guy is serious or honest he's trolling
it's just a slightly different kind of trolling

and that's the interesting thing about wd40 - if there was no bag, you'd never use it for firearms because wd40 attracts water, but since it can never dry while sealed, it will actively displace moisture and quantitatively do the same thing that a waxier grease (like cosmoline) or hydrophobic oil would do, both displace and repel the water.
