Explain what you are getting at by "weak-minded"

I am not weak-minded in any sense of the word.

Carl Sagan, Richard Branson, Ted Turner, so many musicians, the list is endless.

i wouldnt say all, but with the minor amount of witdraw, we can all agree that any person with reasonable incentive to quit using, but unable to, is a weak minded person, at the very least.

So instead of being a functional alcoholic, you're a functional stoner. You're still an addict.

If someone has a beer or two a couple times a week, are they an alcoholic?

Do they have an addiction?

No.

If someone smokes a joint a couple times a week, are they a stoner?

Do they have an addiction?

No.

A sample size of 49 participants and no link to the white paper in the article. Sounds like sound scientific method to me.

49 who could quit out of 4,000 users asked.

Didnt read the whole thread but I just thought

''People who tried to quit pot reported feeling moody, tense, anxious and nervous. It was also common for respondents to cite a loss of appetite, difficulty sitting still and insomnia.''

Well no shit, most of them started smoking to help them with their anxiety, lack of appetite or insomnia in the first place so of course if they stop they'll go back to the problem they had -.-

I smoked pot for 5 years, and quit like nothing. No withdrawal symptoms or anything.

I've never heard of anyone having withdrawal from weed and I certainly did not. But I can tell you from personal experience, quitting smoking cigarettes is really really hard. I finally did it a few years ago and have never felt better. I think the people who did this study don't know much about cigarette/nicotene addiction if they think its similar to marijuana withdrawal symptoms.

Are you sure? I think Dr. Michael Savage has written extensively some of the mental side effects of marijuana addiction in relation to political tendency.
