The Epstein files couldn't be released because of the pending litigation of Ghislaine Maxwel, who was appealing her court decision.
The question is, why did only 4 republicans vote with democrats to have them finally released?

at the time all the epstein stuff begun, there was a good chance half the country wouldnt of believed it, the media at the time was more poweful and would of said all this is nonsense and just Trump going after democrats, but the way this is all playing out, that most likely will not be the outcome and people will actually be held accountable, for those saying why didnt all this come out a few years ago.

I think you're greatly underestimating how little the right wing cares about what happens to Trump now. He was good to support at the time, but his value to America as a politician has long passed.
