While you do have free will, it is possible to influence people to make certain decisions.

A perfect example of this is when God gave Adam and Eve the choice to obey or disobey, eat or not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge.

God could have intervened and stopped them from eating from the Tree but God let them choose.

On the flip side the Serpent knew how to influence their decision making to get them to eat from the Tree of Knowledge.

What if there are other forces, but "free will" is meant to describe having executive override so that even with the presence of other forces, we retain agency.

Sure, so how does that work?

as far as i know only atheists play around with the "no free will" argument. i think they do it because they think it a clever slippery excuse for not believing.

hitchens once made the argument he thought it clever. "you have free will because you dont have a choice" but that was actually stupid. you have free will because you dohave a choice

I am not a believer, but I dont think no free will is an argument against god. I think that god's existence would be even clearer than a naturalistic view mean that there's no free will.

Since God is an omnipotent being, free will can only be an illusion. You can't make an argument in any shape of form in which we would have free will in the end if god is omnipotent. But you can try.

You aquired your knowledge, god cant aquire knowledge from another source. He is the source. And the source is always the cause.

You are very desperate for +1s lol. Why are you expressing your free will to make so many posts back to back when you can respond to multiple posts in 1 post?

Example

Example.

Nothing more than a troll who is desperate for +1s to add to a meaningless post count.

Example

God knows everything, but he doesnt know everything because he aquired that knowledge from an outside source, he knows everything because he is the source of all things. He knows all things because he commanded all those things. God is never surprised and god does not learn, because he is already omnipotent. So all the knowledge he has is his own doing. He is the source. So theres no free will.

Looks like you chose to respond.

You (chose) to do so.

Omg, free will in a nutshell.

Looks like it feels like I chose to respond, yeah. Feels good, gotta admit.
If having free will was as obvious as your line of thoughts, this wouldnt be a century old topic.
