yes, animals do in fact have brains, which can in fact become incorrectly wired by entropic forces, just the same as humans. Humans are mammals much like many other animals.

and I do actually have a mental illness, it's hard for me to fathom why so many are in denial

can you explain the fallacy?

and my position is rooted in physical reality, not religion. There's alot of wiring in the brain that can get messed up for no reason other than entropy, bad luck. Uncertainty principle

In contrast, the religious position is that you can "pray the gay away", or cure yourself through faith. I'm on the side that says this is perhaps possible for some gay people who aren't "actually" gay, but you can't pray away a miswired brain
