Really it shouldn't matter who's hosting or who's asking the questions. In reality there shouldn't be all this catering or 'friendliness' expectation at all.

Whatever happened to two candidates getting on a stage and publicly putting their ideas on display and defending them? Like this isn't even some partisan biased proposition, every American that believes in transparency and accountability should be for this. We should all want the most qualified candidate who's able to critically think on the spot, without previously knowing all questions and having days/weeks to prep well crafted responses. Why have we become so intellectually cuddled and how do we expect to be taken seriously in the world if the president/nominee is increasingly just a public figure but can no longer speak for themselves without being fully prepared/rehearsed?

We watch people like Putin do 2 hour interview sit downs with Tucker or other western journalist, no teleprompter, no notecards, no nothing, you see this across the globe with top leaders not being scared to speak their minds in the moment. Why the fuck is our media so toothless and voiceless in not calling out this pussyfooting? It's embarrassing at this point, that hiding from public appearances or expectation that you will only speak with a tele-prompter or only if you have all the questions prior has been normalized. Mediocrity at the highest levels.

The notes thing? The Trump campaign said Harris wanted to use notes, and you took that at face value? There is no proof of Harris saying that other than a Trumper.
