I shouldn't represent it that way for sure. But the number of people who put presidents in office is pretty low compared to the population.
Not all states have party registration. But we can look at voting records.
260 million people over the age of 18 in the United States.
159 million voted for POTUS in 2020.
74 million for Trump.
So like 28% of adults voted for Trump and 31% for Biden.
Total US population is 334 million. Like 73 million under 18, but let's be honest teenagers are at least aware of politics especially social policies. You take the 15 and up population and Republican ideology support is low 20s, dems mid-high 20s.
Most of the country wishes we had something completely different to actually care about.
