Covid fully broke out in late March 2020 in the US, that's 10 months before Trump left office. During Biden's first 10 months in office, there were more covid deaths than during Trump's 10 covid months - and that's in spite of the virus being new under Trump and in spite of vaccines being available when Biden came in while Trump mostly had to deal with the virus without them.

Of course Biden broke his campaign promise of quickly getting covid under control and returning the country to normal. He also broke his promise not to force the vaccines on anyone.

remember every single news outlet having the covid death count updated by the second in size 162 blood red font from march 2020 to about jan 20 2021?

stopped right then even though over the next 10 months as you said (and official numbers confirm) more people died from covid even with vaccines wildly available. wierd.

this is the answer. they are ready for him to lose, realize no one else can beat trump. so they'll lose, cry a lot about it, run 24-7 coverage on each big mac trump eats, demonize any and all EO policy, then flip the legislature at the midterms and try and carry it through 2028 and beyond with fear mongering against desanctimonious or whomever.

At this point, divided government doesn't really help Democrats further their agenda. They've maneuvered themselves into a dead end when it comes to the Supreme Court and the geographic hyperconcentration of their electoral coalition. What they really need is a federal trifecta in which 51+ Dem senators are on board with nuking the filibuster, packing the Supreme Court and granting DC and PR statehood. If Trump 2.0 goes south, 2026 and 2028 are their best shot at accomplishing just that.

Congratulations to the Democrats. You caved to your political donors causing untold chaos. In doing so you crashed your party 4 months before a critical election.
