Raphael Warnock, Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro and Jared Polis could imho all beat Trump. Perhaps even governor hairgrease or Kamala could pull it off. This was not a good performance by Trump tonight. He's a deeeeply flawed candidate with a very low and very ironclad ceiling. He's not a strong candidate by any stretch of the imagination and pretty much the only reason he's looking strong right now is that he's running against a corpse.

This was too easy for Trump.
Biden is lost.
Big loss for the democrats today.

Trump isn't strong for the same reason Biden isn't strong. Trump doesn't have the same mental capabilities as he did on his last office. But realistically he is still better than Biden by a landslide.

I'm pretty sure republicans put Trump on the ticket cuz they are going to put their next runner up as his VP and snowball that.

Kamala is an atrocious politician and candidate and wouldn't be much of an improvement for Democrats, but at this point, if I were a DNC bigwig, I'd rather roll the dice with her than stay on the Biden train which is clearly falling off a cliff.
Even if Kamala ultimately loses her own race, having a younger, more energetic standard bearer could help them win crucial downballot races.

But I agree: if the Democrats had an option to bypass Kamala and replace Biden with a stronger alternative than her, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Maybe it's a good thing if democrats are forced to chose another candidate, this time a young one...
