No side, just feel passionate about objective progress and people bringing that progress being bashed based on #current thing garbage.
I know liberals that are some of the loudest proponents of environmentalism/anti oil. Will have all the public displays, Patagonia's, bumper stickers till kingdom come, vegetarian, and so on. And then they will immediately say how much they can't stand Elon and won't buy a Tesla and continue to drive their gas SUV. Absolute frauds honestly, with some really weird virtue signaling hierarchies.
You can still examine history where objective progress was made and understand that it can be done better in the future.
I am inclined as well to believe, especially in our generation (if you're in your mid 30s) that we're semi wired to adore billionaires, regardless of anything. We grew up on shows like Cops where we were like yeah, fuck that drug addict up who's not even resisting arrest. We never saw a show where they go to rich people's homes to pin them to the floor who clearly exploited, committed mass fraud, off shores all their income to avoid tax and is responsible for infinitely more damage than any peasant drug addict.
I think younger people, are perhaps starting to actually look underneath. That might initially be considered part of the woke agenda, but I don't think its going anywhere. I don't think its a fad. Some of the consumerism is, but the general shift, I don't think so.
Well see though, I do in general think history is going to be written different than we read it. It wont be a highlight reel.
Another tell tale sign for me, is across out companies, we have hundreds of employees, and I have never in my life seen so many young people who will cite employee rights, contract rights, etc. There's a shift happening, people are starting to learn their rights , exercise them and as a result examine those that would exploit them. I see it more and more each day in our own businesses.
