you're strawmanning, i was against cuties because of the poor execution you're describing as "viral theatrically released softcore child-****". we agree, that's why i didnt like it. all i said additionally was that i got what they were going for, i just didnt like where it went to try and prove that. there were far better ways to prove that point, i agree with the point, not the execution.

indeed, it's an issue im very concerned about. i just contended that cuties wasn't gas on a brush fire, it was a stick on a bonfire.

I completely agree with that. While the mainstream platforming of Cuties via Netflix was heinous, all these other social media conglomerates have been platforming it for much longer, to much less scrutiny.

if the creators of the movie just did it more tastefully with FAR MORE camera shots of disgusted people and far fewer and better shot angles of kids doing inappropriate dancing it would have got it's message across. as it was it read more like a parody that no one is supposed to realize it's parody. not the way to drive home a point.
