Consider that Donald Trump has half the country gunning for him with such a hate boner that they're willing to shred the law and pull out all the stops to latch onto ANYTHING against him. With unlimited resources to dig into his past, all his business dealings, tax filings, etc. And the fruit of those searches has been-

- Accusing Trump of colluding with Russia, only to discover that he did not in any way shape or form, but several of his opponents actually did in several shapes and forms, ya know, taking bribes from oligarchs and buying fake opposition research from the Kremlin
- Impeaching Trump for saying Zelensky should look into whether Hunter Biden did anything illegal in Ukraine, after which we learned Hunter Biden absolutely did all kinds of illegal stuff in Ukraine, but Zelensky was a puppet for the DNC so he was just talking to his domestic political opponents lmao
- A hush money charge in new york that completely inverts the FEC precedent and criminalizes all behavior by every politician in a catch 22
- Charges for holding classified documents even though so did every other president, including multiple for Biden, just because Trump waved some irrelevant document around to criticize Mark Milley for his strategic incompetency
- Trying to lock up Trump for merely existing adjacent to the January 6th riot, in which he didn't even do anything but tell people to go home- at both the federal level and georgia 'for telling people to validate the election'
- Accusing Trump of raping a withered old batshit insane and hideously ugly woman who spent her entire life as an outspoken feminist firebrand but magically only came up with a rape story when went on a book tour (that mirrors 1:1 an old episode of Law and Order). Contemporaneous with Trump banging a laundry list of supermodels who all repeatedly vouched for him being a gentleman
- Accusing Trump of inflating his assets by pointing out examples of Trump very provably not inflating his assets, by comparing the incomparable property value and assessed values in florida

The point being, if you can give this man a prostate exam and the biggest polyp of actual misconduct you turn up is that he waved around papers that he has the plenary power to declassify, just to make a point about how a liberal general was actually incompetently leading America into wars that would get hundreds of thousands of people killed, and Trump was the only voice of reason holding us back- uh, that's not exactly damning. In a sane society, we wouldn't try to dig for scraps of dirt on political opponents, we'd oppose their policies in a vigorous and civilized discourse. But spending 7 years digging into Trump's rectum they've turned up basically nothing. Maybe there's less there than you'd assume given his fat ass

Fuck around, find out.

he's lucky all he has to face is a lifetime of charges, and he's still dumb enough to run again. JFK wasnt as lucky when he came at the deepstate.

his path to winning the whitehouse is also the path to destroying his own life. thus is the legacy of whistle blowers throughout history. u can live in peace or you can open your mouth, u cant have both.

if the underlying cases are spurious products of overzealous politicized judges and DAs they'll crumble under federal appeal, so really we're just whining about his lawyer fees.

both parties biggest crutch often times is the flawed messiah. i wont cry for Alex Jones, Michael Brown, Donald Trump, or Trayvon Martin.

I mean, citing the "2300% compared to the assessors's appraisal" does raise the specter that maybe judge engoron is a few cans short of a 6 pack. Serving on the new york supreme court is probably a mark against competency, after all

So here's the actual decision, and notably this page;

https://i.imgur.com/asx0U7n.jpg

What's going on here is the judge is demonstrating either a profound ignorance of Florida law and the housing market, or is willfully and maliciously weaponizing New York law against Florida law, imposing an interstate financial liability on someone for being subject to another state's policies. Assessed property values in Florida are wildly out of step and far below market value rates, as a result of intentional policies the florida legislature passed to cap assessed values and thus spare homeowners the ballooning property taxes that would come with the hot housing market. They purposefully keep their taxes low- back in 1995 Florida passed the Save Our Homes Amendment which caps assessed value increase per year at 3% or the CPI (10% max for non-homesteads), whichever is lower. As well as other clauses I probably don't even know about, seeing as I'm no master of Florida law
New York by contrast limits the property taxes rather than the assessed value, putting a limit on local governments to raise their rates.

The judge is taking a valuation of a property that's obviously worth $350+ million on the market, and could plausibly be closer to the $750 billion cited by Trump, and saying Trump is committing fraud and liable because his valuation isn't consistent with the Florida assessment. If Trump had cited the property as actually being worth $18 million like the judge said, he'd be committing fraud in Florida because that's obviously fucking wrong. Thus the judge has created a catch-22: Either Trump, a florida resident, can obey Florida law and violate New York law, or he can obey New York law and violate Florida law. Imposing penalties on someone for a property that is plainly not in the judge's jurisdiction.

I sincerely doubt this judge got their position in life while being a mouth breathing moron, so its just a political hitjob dressed up under a paper thin pretense.

THIS IS NEW YORK LAW NOT FLORIDA LAW

LOL WRONG STATE BOZO

I understand politics is very divisive but people need to separate their political view with whatever evidence is used in these cases.

Although all of this is politically motivated doesnt mean he’s guilt free no what matter evidence they find.

Evidence is evidence. I just don’t get it.

And I'm sure you can see how absolutely anathema to the concept of civil liberties it is for our political scene to be defined by "throw as many bogus charges at the wall and see if any stick post appeal after conviction in biased courts"

The whole thing comes down to what I'd liken to the "Donald Trump is a cannibal" problem.
A whole bunch of people get together and shriek and accuse Trump of being a cannibal. They investigate every meal he's ever eaten in his life, they appoint a special counsel to poke through his turds. They accuse him of drinking blood and devouring babies. One deranged activist comes forth and accuses Trump of eating her brains 20 years ago, with no evidence ('but I got better'). In the end they wind up catching Trump on tape eating his own boogers when he thinks nobody is watching. And they say, a-ha, he's a cannibal, we proved it.

If Trump got caught committing a real crime tomorrow, he'd be disgraced and wiped off the political scene, even his diehard supporters would flee. If he was actually taking bribes, selling secrets, molesting kids, murdering someone, etc. Instead they tried to brew a storm in a teacup over completely irrelevant non-crimes and their strongest case is victimless with absolutely zero impact to anyone. They promised they'd expose him as an actual cannibal, like Reza Aslan. Its no surprise his poll numbers are only going up as they push boogergate
