The reason you absolutely should vote is as such:

1) If the vote doesn't matter (he who counts the votes decides), then your vote is useless

2) If the vote does matter and is legitimately counted, your vote is not useless

If you do not vote, your vote never matters. Therefore, you logically should always vote given that 2) remains a possibility. Voting takes a negligible amount of your resources to act upon (a small part of a single day every so many years)

Religion and culture is putting a stop to it. Japan and Korea have been extremely robust so far. Taiwan would have fallen to it, but from what I see so far it didn't.
It is not exactly happening in my country Singapore.
Not happening in Hong Kong either.
China might just put you into summer camps if you go too far.

I also want to mention maybe the major homogeneous and cultural nature of the population have something to do with it

I am keeping my fingers cross.

I am not sure if OP admits it but I think the topic is made as a slight to modern feminism in the United States

Religion and culture, however, can be forcibly destroyed by a foreign conquering force - until that happens, or the culture & religion shifts or changes, then its pretty safe.

Currently, Russia (and China somewhat) are bulwarks of power against postmodern aggression. If those two states are destroyed then there is no protection

Taiwan is still an extremely young nation who only recently ceased to be a fascist dictatorship - these shifts take alot of time, if Taiwan remains an American vassal it will inevitably happen there too

Either way not likely something to worry about in our lifetimes :)

It applies to many scenarios!

If voting DID take a non-negligible amount of your resources then there is a legitimate argument against voting, if you are very confident that your vote truly doesn't matter

Things were significantly better under Donald Trump, I'd say that alone justifies voting, even though both parties are two sides of the same uniparty coin. In the end it comes down to your quality of life, living standards, etc.

w/e it is. it's an L take that's been getting somewhat popular lately.

L take, heed my warning.

It has been an L since 10 years back. The failure to agree to disagree / live and let live and the unfettered , unrestrained discourse that the invention of Internet have provided played a huge part in our current circumstance.
The misinformation and forced information whether in New Media or traditional Media are swaying and changing our thoughts in an extreme manner of either you or me, and there is no middle ground, properly describe the current plight.

A weak middle Bi-partisan center in the United States does not help either. The incessant need to push party ideologues to the extreme ends of the spectrum to stay relevant and to cement legacy by irresponsible politicians also play a huge part in the decline of intellectualism.
So there is really nothing much that can be done about it.
